Day 1 – July 5

  • En route: Scenic drive past Shashamene on mostly paved roads (last 3 km gravel)

  • Midday: Arrive at Wendo Genet; set up camp in a forested area

  • Afternoon: Guided forest hike spotting monkeys (grivet, guereza), baboons, and local birds like woodpeckers & parakeets

  • Evening: Drink from & relax in mineral-rich hot springs, followed by a group meal and camping under the stars

Day 2 – July 6

  • Early Morning: Option to take a second hot spring dip

  • After breakfast: Pack up tents and depart on a nature walk or optional hiking route

  • Midday: Lunch provided

  • Afternoon: Return to Addis, arriving in the evening
