“Im Lauf der Zeit” is about a friendship between two men: Bruno alias ‘King of the Road’ (Rüdiger Vogler) repairs film projectors and travels a route along the German-German border in his lorry, and psychologist Robert alias ‘Kamikaze’ (Hanns Zischler) is on the run from his own history. When Robert drives his old VW straight into the Elbe, he is fished out by Bruno. From then on, their journey together through a German no man’s land begins and takes them from the Lüneburg Heath to the Bavarian Forest.
